Jodi Hays is a painter and the recipient of grants from the Rauschenberg Foundation, Foundation for Contemporary Art, Sustainable Arts Foundation, Tennessee Arts Commission, and the Elizabeth Firestone Graham Foundation, among others. She earned her MFA at Vermont College of Fine Arts (2006) and her BFA at the University of Tennessee (1998) and studied Foundations at the School of Visual Arts. Her residencies include Yaddo, Hambidge Center for Creative Arts, Oxbow School of Art, Stove Works, The Cooper Union School of Art, and Vermont Studio Center. Her work has been reviewed favorably in Art Forum, published in New American Painting, and positively mentioned in Hyperallergic, New York Times, New Art Examiner, Two Coats of Paint, and Sound and Vision Podcast.

Hays has been a visiting artist and critic at RISD MFA (2026), University of Arkansas (2025), Vanderbilt University BFA (2024), University of Tennessee (Chattanooga, 2019), Her solo and two person exhibitions include Night Gallery (Los Angeles), Susan Inglett Gallery (New York City), and Devening Projects (Chicago). Hays’ paintings can be found in many public and corporate collections including the J Crew Group, Morgan Stanley, Fidelity, and the Birmingham Museum of Art.
